Dessert at Telawi Street Bistro

Met up with some of the college mates at Telawi Street Bistro (TSB) last night as Genevieve (the Bruneian) is in town for a week long vacation. I had not been to TSB before, but at least I know of its existence (I usually walk past the place, but never stopped in til last night). I don't think you can miss it as it's on one end of Jalan Telawi 3 and pretty prominent.

Got there about 7.45ish, and killed a few more minutes looking for a parking space where there was no jaga kereta guy demanding payment (or suffer the consequences...). I'm not about to pay some guy for excellent parking space (he was minding a couple empty ones along Telawi 1, near the McDs) when parking is free after 6 p.m. Fuck that shit, I'd rather walk. I found an empty space near the post office (which I didn't know was open at night), which was a (comparatively) short walk.

Pored through the menu long enough to find out that the dessert menu is separate (there wasn't anything I liked in the main menu) - got the wait staff to bring them dessert menus post-haste and I couldn't decide (nothing new :P). There were about half a dozen of us by the end of the night with people getting off work a little late, but the meal wasn't too bad. I can't say the same for the service - service was a little slow for a Monday night. Now I know why there usually is only ONE server to the table/party: it was pretty confusing cos I wasn't sure who our waiter was half the time.

I only had a mojito (not bad, I guess) and a dessert (chocolate tart with macadamia ice cream and side of chocolate mousse) as already had dinner before leaving the house. Cheryl wasn't having a great night with the service - her drink was watered down and had to wait a while for her chocolate tart. Talk about lack of communication all around.

I did a quick Google Blog Search about the place the day before to have an idea of what's good there. I read a couple of bloggers that complained of the service as well. At least it's not an isolated incident.
