Week 31, 2009

• Dad had a cataract removed on Friday. The followup was today (Saturday) - the snag is apparently he's supposed to stay home for 3 days to recuperate and it's hard for him, he who cannot stay home quietly. Oh brother.
  
  
• Sarimah Ibrahim's host of Biggest Loser Asia - which I'm okay with, cos I had been wondering who would host it since the show was announced. I also wonder who was she up against for the job. At least Jojo Struys wasn't picked - it would've been too obvious and I would've felt menyampah already :P Speaking of Sarimah, I still can't believe that she's doing her psych degree at HELP (she done yet? it's been a while...), which kinda makes her our junior - lame, I know, but whatever. (It's not like we had a local celeb shortage in my college days or anything...). Would've been interesting to see her present during Research Colloquium.
  
  
• Started on James McGee's third Hawkwood book, Rapscallion.
  
  
• Finally saw Mukhsin on TV Saturday night which came on after an hour long tribute episode to late director Yasmin Ahmad on Majalah 3 (or M3 as it's now called). It was so surreal watching young Orked and Mukhsin playing kites with married couple "older" Orked and Jason (from Sepet and Gubra), knowing what happened. Obviously, the wife's name was never mentioned in the scene (Jason's was), but it's older Orked from the previous movies. Apart from that, I thought it was not a bad movie.
  
  
• Anti-ISA rally yesterday. Such a pity that people can't march peacefully without police intervention. At the same time I'm also glad that I don't have a solid reason to drive into town with the road blocks, etc. You'd think that ALL the protestors would be driving in or something. If I was one, I would take the train. That's all I'm saying.
