Saturday in Midvalley

Went to Midvalley to check out the Chocolate Fair going on this weekend.

Chocolate fair was so-so: I thought there'd be more bigger confectionery companies taking part in this, and I was expecting to see more Hersheys stuff on sale. Oh well - bought some bars of Lindt Excellence : Excellence Chilli, Excellence Ecuador (75% cocoa content) and Excellence Madagascar (70% cocoa content).

Decided to try The Spaghetti Farm for lunch. As someone who doesn't usually order pasta because it's one of those things I make at home several times a year, I went a little nuts and had the meal set (pasta, drink and soup) and added on a dessert (berry pannacotta) for the heck of it. The beef bolognaise was little bland (should've added salt myself, at least), but at least you know the sauce is not out of the jar. Am still not sure about the soup as it could very well be canned soup for all I know, but the tomato soup I had was not too bad. I probably should've added the soup to the pasta...

I didn't get to have the dessert there and then so I was carrying it around (plus the leftover soup) and after a brief refrigeration at home, I thought it was going bad a little too soon, but it could be the berry topping. That's how you know there's really no preservatives :P

Otherwise, the price was pretty reasonable for pasta (most of which are under RM10, the most expensive was RM12.80?!). And fast, too.

Also went for Russell Lee (of True Singapore Ghost Stories fame) book signing at MPH. Got him to sign my copy of #19 (resisted the urge to bring the other books since the last time I saw him). He remembered me from the last signing in Subang Parade about 5 years ago. Also got a signed poster and other swag...
