The other morning one weekend I was on the LRT towards KLCC, and a Malay family - couple of women with too much make up, their kids and also their elderly mothers - sat near and across me. Which I'm okay with because it's called PUBLIC transport after all, but what happened next left me stymied.
They started taking pictures of themselves on the train - posing, etc. One of the hijab-ed grandmothers also had her picture taken but like my grandmother, didn't want her picture taken because she looked away and put her hand up in front of her face.
On one hand, I know they cannot be completely jakun because they had digital cameras and not film point and shoots; but on the other hand, they went flash crazy when it was pretty bright outside and they're taking pictures like they've never been on the train, which might very well be the case, but still.
Last I checked, there were no photography signage on the trains.
To my right, there were these young girls who were also taking pictures of each other (no flash, thankfully). I wasn't sure why, but I can't be arsed to ask.
Just one of those curious things that occur when you're taking public transport.
