Another year, another Vesak

Another long weekend for office dwellers.


Was looking for my other membership cards (my Tesco Clubcard, Robinsons, the bookstore ones... the ones I don't use as much) and I realised that they're MIA. I've looked in the bags in my possession - nothing. It's either somewhere in the room (still) or they're out in the wild. On one hand, I'm not too fussed as the bookstore ones (Times, Popular) were expiring later in the year and I was thinking of letting them lapse seeing as how I don't use them that much anyway. With any luck, they might turn up.... someday. I could do without the clutter.


One of my crazy theories was that I might have dropped it at the Popular outlet in 1U since it was the last time I've had to take it out of the bag for the members' discount. I did call the outlet in question, and got the "if-we-find-it, we'll-call-you" response. Fat luck with that, might have to go there in person soon enough for the heck of it.


Went to Amcorp to check out the "new stock" in BookXcess - nothing I really wanted to get, which was just as well. (I was thinking of letting the BookXcess membership lapse too when it expires later in the year, seeing as I hardly use it except for their data collection purposes and I hardly spend the minimum RM50 to get the sad 5% discount..). There was copies of Ben Elton's latest novel, Meltdown, but I didn't feel like getting it to clutter up my shelves, and the topic (of the financial meltdown) didn't interest me.


Still coughing and making wan tans, but not as much. I'm tired of being ill.
