PJ Laugh Fest - The J&J Show!

The PJ Laugh Fest is well underway now and the only show that I'm watching is The J&J Show! because I'm cheap that way.

When I got to the first floor, I noticed that there were way too many people in the foyer, so it got hot and stuffy after a little while. Doors opened a little late because of dress rehearsal went too long (maybe - I can hear something going on in there), and the show only started around 8.55 p.m. The place was so full, latecomers had to stand at the back of the room, Douglas Lim being one of them. No sign of Dato' Zahim.

Anyway, it was the first time I've seen Bill Quah the younger (as how I usually refer to Will Quah) bring out the bawdy stuff in emcee mode. His bit about the UK election was lost on the audience, but he made up for it (kind of) with the Englishman-bashing later in the downstairs department. Minor digression: Someone I know needs their gaydar recalibrated.

Anyhow, Jit rehashed a major bit from his last one-man show, 1 Load of BullJit, which he disclaimed as much (boo). If you've seen that one, you'll know it. Didn't stop me from laughing along - but I was laughing when Jit was breaking out of character (I think that's what the term is).

Bill Quah the younger came on again for a bit and did a musical number before introducing Joanne Kam on stage.

I've never seen Joanne Kam on stage before - bawdy was the theme of the night - while some of her joke set up is a little more localised, but I could see the punchline coming a mile away :P But still a funny set.

All three came on stage and with Mother's Day upon us, did a thank-you ditty which was bawdy and funny.

All in all, it was okay lah - was just glad that I didn't pay full price for it lor :P
