Gerard Butler must stop making rom-coms

Someone asked me awhile ago if I would rather watch Gerard Butler in the action/drama role or in the rom-com role. I flat out said I would rather watch him kick butt hands down. I have no idea who in their right mind would prefer him in the rom-coms.

This might have something to do with me not girly enough for these things and hating the romantic comedy movie "genre", but seriously, Gerard Butler needs to stop making dumbass romantic comedies. It's fine for Patrick Dempsey and Katherine Heigl, but not for the guy who we all know could pull off the action/dramatic roles. (Sort of.) The man is like the Scottish Jason Statham - in the sense that he usually manages to keep his accent in movies.

Much as I like the guy and would watch whatever he's in, but come on - I personally draw the line at these dumbass movies because I would not even CONSIDER thinking about watching, let alone actually GOING to watch it.

It's not like people don't appreciate the effort he's put into getting in shape for the role - anyone still remember the 300 movie poster? Exactly.

That said, I don't have a problem with the guy voice acting in the animated movies, it's just that I wouldn't exactly pay to watch those movies too.
