I would've gone to check out the only Uniqlo store in Malaysia sooner if I didn't have to wait for certain people. But today was the day, and we were both free to go check out the store together.
I wasn't there for jeans (biggest size for women was 29 :P) which are on offer for RM49.90, but mostly the smaller sizes like 23 (really?), 24, 25 are left and sizes 26 and up were pretty slim pickings. I also wasn't into the cut that was on offer (Straight Skinny or something like that). The graphic tee shirts wasn't enticing enough for me to actually spend money on. Well, MOST of the opening promotional items were not that enticing either, some being cold weather wear like the fleece jackets and stuff, which is so wrong for Malaysian weather.
Validating them wasn't even that hard, really: you just let them check the voucher serial code, your name and your IC (so no, you can't give anyone else your voucher) and then they'll stamp it and write the day's date on it, which means that you can only use it on the same day. So make sure you already want to get something before validating those vouchers.
On my third validation trip, there were these girls who couldn't get their vouchers validated because they didn't print out the top portion which had names and email addresses and the guys were feeling bad for them, but they couldn't do anything about it as well. Let that be a lesson to all.
I went in with several RM20 vouchers. So I used a voucher each time for...
- a pair of underpants (RM4.90 from RM24.90, HAHA)
- a dark grey 3/4 sleeve, premium cotton tee shirt (RM39.90, but paid RM19.90)
- one of the reversible fleece jackets that was on offer (it was RM49.90, but paid RM29.90) - which took me the longest to finally get because I can't see myself wearing it anytime soon and I was taking forever to decide
In conclusion: If I didn't have as many vouchers as I did, I probably would not have bothered AT ALL with Uniqlo. But I will say, I like the cheery, chanting crew working there - while there are people in the store, but I'm pretty sure it's way better for them now than when they were first opened a couple of weeks ago.
