So apparently Malaysia won some football match and to celebrate, the PM declared Friday (Dec 31) a public holiday, in effect giving most of the populace a three day weekend to 2011.
Man, if I was still employed and had already taken that day off, I would be so pissed because I would make it a point to take New Year's Eve off just because I could and I think it's depressing being at work on the day. And I don't think I'll be able to get a replacement day or however that works.
Boy, this announcement has had people's Friday plans FUBAR. Work plans also FUBAR.
Of course, this would make little difference to people in the service and retail industries (among others) and also the shift workers - it's just another day of the week for them.
Oh well - enjoy the extra day off if you have it.
