It was either this or the Vapur Anti-Bottle, but the latter is (as far as I know) still NOT available in Malaysia and I'm not a fan of the sports bottle cap. There's also plenty of fake Vapurs about, but I won't go on about that.
As I am not a real outdoorsy person, so I can't tell you whether it works in those situations - but there are plenty of reviews you can read online. So I can only talk about it from the urbanite perspective. Here's the blog post of where I bought it and how much.
I've mostly been using it as an everyday drinking bottle, and it still holds up fine for the most part. It would fit most backpacks, car drink holders and handbags, but I wouldn't try stashing a filled bottle in tiny clutches/purses.
✔ It can stand when filled, and lay flat when empty, and doesn't take much space in its empty state.
✔ The SoftBottle specifically comes in 0.5L, and 1L sizes in different colours - Blueberry, Grey, Raspberry, Grape and Tangerine - and caps: Closure Cap (think your typical mineral water bottle cap) and the Hydraflow (your typical sports bottle cap)
✖ Aesthetics - A little wear creases where I fold and/or roll it up for storage, but as long as it doesn't spring a leak, I really don't care.
Conclusion: Love this - Great, flexible water drinking option.
