It does for me, and here are my own real life examples:
- I have a short commute, don't pay for parking and only have to fuel up the old Jeep every other month; but I hate the hours, the douche that signs the paycheques and the pay. With the short commute, I usually spend some time in the morning with the pater (who's his own boss with nearby office, so he's not rushing to work himself) at home, which is more than when I was a kid.
- While I think the man who sign the paycheque is a (fill in your own expletive here), but I don't have to see him everyday as he's away half the time.
- When I leave on time earlier in the week, it usually means that I'll be stuck in the office for at least another hour doing some 11th hour task that the douche decides to throw in my direction at 5.59 p.m. on Friday. So I usually leave on time whenever I can, more so when I have already made plans.
- Because of the nature of my job (as office bitch), I usually CAN and have time for after work plans.
