Birthday on the Skybridge

Decided to go down to KLCC for the heck of it, to check out the tourist-y places like Petrosains or Aquaria, etc where there wouldn't be a lot of school groups around, no?

Since I was there around 10 something (closer to 11 a.m.), I decided to try my luck at getting a ticket to see the 41st floor Skybridge between the Twin Towers that (I keep hearing) are hard to get (unless you're up at some ungodly hour to line up before 8.30 a.m.). Only good thing about being by myself was that it wasn't as hard getting ONE ticket, and I got one for 2 p.m. (earlier slots are all gone), which I thought was fine since I had that kind of time. Felt a little bad for the Australians that were in line with me as they had to fly elsewhere that day. Oh well.

Didn't really think to bring a camera (rushed to get a ride to the train station with Dad), so I only have phone pics with me. I haven't figured out how to do the Twitpic thing - don't think my cheapass Nokia phone could manage it. Oh well.

Anyway - on the ticket it said to report in at 1.45 p.m. Turned up a little earlier, was given a blue visitor pass and was ushered into this theaterette where they played this short introductory 3D film (glasses didn't really do anything for me, but the frames are now in vogue).

We left, and waited in line to go through the metal detectors (which I don't recall reading about on the blogosphere), one group at a time. I think I was the only local local in the group I was in, which was 80% Caucasian. Fortunately the elevator ride up was pretty painless (and fast - one floor a second).

Well, the 10 minutes there was not too bad - it was pretty much enough time to ooh and ahh over the view (which was pretty clear because of the slightly cloudy weather outside) and take the obligatory camwhore pictures before getting back down again. Whole thing probably took 40 minutes, 45 tops.

Another item to cross off the "been there, done that" list.

Killed the rest of the morning there (in between window shopping, natch) checking out the music exhibit at Petrosains (didn't have time to check out the actual Petrosains), Muzika - The Science of Music. For RM6 it wasn't that bad lah.
