Finally gotten round to checking out The Salad Bar in Damansara Utama - which is a few doors down from Hong Leong Bank, and also located next door to a (sic) burger joint.
There's fresh juices, sandwiches, pasta as well as the salads on the menu. There are also sets available that I would try out at some point.
Decided to get a half portion of Old Granny's Caesar (a Supersalad, at RM11.90 for a full salad, RM6.90 for half), which is dressed with Italian dressing.
| Had tossed it a little before remembering that I had to take a shot of it |
As I was eating, the owner gave me some Asian dressing and told me to give it a try. I poured some in and tossed... I liked it. And I usually am not a fan of Asian salads or dressings.
Much I like the salad I tried, but you can't put the name Caesar in the salad without Caesar dressing. Plus, they forgot the hard boiled egg until I pointed it out. The prices are also not too bad considering salads elsewhere can cost a bit more... and can be not as healthy as some of those salads can be DRENCHED in Thousand Island dressing.
Things I DID like
- The choice of full and half-portion salads - great for the small eaters, or if you want to try the other stuff on the menu.
- The salad I got wasn't drowning in dressing - which great, as I hate an over-dressed salad.
I'd go back to try the rest of the stuff. And probably challenge myself to a full salad one of these days.
