She Said

I'm kinda surprised that this movie even made it here, so caught She Said on a quiet Saturday morning at the second home. This time the ads ran so long I was sitting through about 10 minutes before the movie started. Then again, it was also me and like, 3 other people there early on a Saturday to watch a movie about how the people at the New York Times (NYT) beat The New Yorker to publish the story of the Harvey Weinstein scandal.

Basically, it's ladies trying to get more ladies to spill the beans on Harvey Weinstein's decades of abuse.

The only thing I remember about this was that the ladies (Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey) being on The Late Show to promote the book this was based on some years ago now. Dunno how I missed that this is now a movie, but hey.

  • You gotta give Ashley Judd props for actually being in this movie and not have someone double for her, as one of the victims
  • NGL, I laughed so hard when the voice of Donald Trump is played by the guy who's currently playing both Trump and Biden on SNL cos that guy's Trump voice is pretty spot on
  • It is kinda ironic that Brad Pitt is a producer on this, what with his own baggage
I thought it probably could've been shaved down to 2 hours even, but I don't hate it. If journalism movies are your jam or if you want something less blockbuster-y to watch in the cinema, maybe watch this before it's no longer in the cinemas?
