Short work week, but at what cost? Anyhow, a lot of people took multiple days off, so there's that.
Coming week also gonna be short cos it's both Wesak and Star Wars Day (if you're observing) next Thursday.
- Didn't expect Jerry Springer (of all people) to kick the bucket so soon?
- Caught a small movie this week (To Catch a Killer aka Misanthrope) on Monday.
- Attended a second cousin's wedding dinner on Sunday (not close enough for wedding formalities, but I'm not gonna complain about getting dinner. I can barely keep track of how many first cousins I've got, let alone second cousins)
- James Corden finally finished his run on The Late Late Show this week, also killing the American Late Late Show franchise (they're gonna bring back @midnight for that time slot), and leaving CBS with no West Coast late night talk show, which means Kimmel's talent booking department's job just got a lot easier? To be fair, I knew he's not gonna do it forever (but Stephen, Seth and the Jimmys might), but I'm not so cut up about his iteration ending as I was when Craig Ferguson ended his before that. (Notice how the non-American late night show hosts like him and Trevor Noah have already vacated their positions ahead of the next election cycle? Before you say there's still John Oliver, a) he's already an American citizen, and b) Last Week Tonight not exactly a talk show per se)
