Malaysian Dreamgirl

So the Malaysian all-online model search is on.

Finally saw the first episode online at Malaysian Dreamgirl.tv for the heck of it.

On the technical side, splitting an episode into 5 parts is not a bad idea - makes the downloading faster. But the sound leaves a lot to be desired; even with my Altec Lansing laptop speakers on high I could barely hear what is it that they're saying half the time and the echoing's pretty bad too. (Room too big is it, boom operator cannot catch the sound...?). They should at least get the girls to wear mike packs when they come in to audition in front of the judges. Or project their voices better... that's just wistful thinking.

Judges also so-so only lah. Elaine and Jimmy at least know what they want, as they are the fashion and modelling people. I also can't believe that Elaine Daly says stuff like "yau mo kau chor...?" in exasperation at straight-guy judge Kenny.

The girls that were on screen also like that. It didn't help that they were dressed like Ah Lians ready to go Red Box sing karaoke like that. These people never watch America's Next Top Model before is it? Want to join modelling show should at least watch that mah... Then again, that one is people send in tapes and Tyra Banks choose the 32 girls for semi-finals wan. But they also got audition those 32 people and they don't dress that bad what...

For Malaysia's sake I hope the winner doesn't turn out to be some Ah Lian. That's all I ask.

All in all, I don't mind following this show (if I can remember to watch, haha) to see what happens next.
