The Star's Mamma Mia! ticket giveaway

Today The Star's giving away tickets to the stage production of Mamma Mia! from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the special minisite for it. The only thing you have to do is sign up for a MyStar account if you haven't already, or just login if you already have an existing account.

I already don't have a ghost of a chance at these tickets as I don't have a lot of internet access during the day at work unlike most people. It's also bad enough that the minisite couldn't handle the hits it's probably been getting the whole day from kiasu Malaysians stuck in front of their computers all day, because it keeps crashing and I keep getting all sorts of error messages.

Reading the following passage on the contest page didn't help, either...

Winners are picked based on an algorithm comprising the sum of the last 2 digits of their IC number and the sequentially-generated queue number. If the last digit of the final sum equals an 8, you will be eligible as a winner.

e.g.
If your IC no. is 800808-10-1234, and your queue number is 1191: 3 + 4 + 1= 8
This makes you one of the winners.

That sucked BIG TIME because the last two digits of my IC number already adds up to 8 even before taking the queue number into the equation. WTF.

To conclude: NO, I didn't get a pair of tickets. I'm not sure if I ever want to know or hear of anyone else that has, though.
