- Taylor Clark - Starbucked: A Double Tall Tale of Caffeine, Commerce & Culture
- The Neil Humphreys books - Complete Notes from Singapore: The Omnibus Edition, Be My Baby: On the Road to Fatherhood.
Finished all four Neil Humphreys books in a span of a few weeks: I thought the first two of the three books (Notes From An Even Smaller Island, Scribbles from the Same Island) were more interesting than the third book of the compilation (Final Notes from a Great Island: A Farewell Tour of Singapore). The story about his boob flashing landlady is a must-read.
I've always seen the books in the bookshops over the years, but never really thought about buying them to read earlier (Shit happens). Okaylah, the books got some chuckles out of me, which can be hard to repress when you're reading it where you're not supposed to. The latest one, Be My Baby, he and his wife are now in Australia, and chronicles his wife's pregnancy and being halfway across the planet from your family.
I'd recommend reading the books.
