Damn playground swings

I know playgrounds are for kids to expend their "excess" energy, but it doesn't happen that much anymore because of the piggy flu scare and increasingly sedentary lifestyles.

That, and because they're revamping the playground right outside my house - they've replaced the badminton court with a basketball court (no sign of the baskets yet) and they've redone the jogging path. They've uprooted the monkey bars, see saws and swings and have dumped them on one side. I have no idea what the plans are for them.

If there are new swings in the works, that would be great - not just because they're too small for adults, but these have been around since the neighborhood existed, which has been over 15 years, I think - the rust, grime and all that jazz.

I love the swings at a playground, I get on one whenever I see one and when I get the urge to.

But face it, these swings are a little too small and narrow for adults - I could last a few minutes before my pelvis is about to cave in on itself. Why the discrimination against adults? The wooden plank ones worked just fine 10 years ago; those would've accommodated me and my hips now. WTF.

Sigh, I miss being on the swings.
