I've checked out the official Google Wave site and I still don't quite get it even after listening to numerous tech podcasts about it. (But haven't gotten round to listening to This Week in Google yet).
The developer preview video on the site is too long when all I really want is a dummy's guide to what it's about.
From what I could gleam, it's basically a cross between IM-ing and Google Docs. I think.
Like with Gmail back in the day, the invitations to Google Wave is in high demand, with people selling their invites on eBay and what not.
Frankly, I'm not excited enough to use this myself just now, so I'll wait and see when it's available to the public. Besides, I think you need more than one person to make this work...
