Driving my mum around town

My mum scheduled her (free) 60 minute Foot Reflexology and Aromatherapy Foot Wash at Asianel (in Starhill) and 90 minute Jamu Body Therapy at Bella Luna at Solaris, Mont Kiara in the same afternoon (one at noon, the other at 4 p.m.). Since she's not one for driving out of PJ and Shah Alam, guess who has to do it? Not that I minded so much, gives me an excuse to wander around, really.

Anyway, left home around 11 a.m. and dropped the sibling off at KLCC mall (his turn to check out PC Fair) - only to later find out that we could've actually dropped him off at the entrance of the actual convention centre. Oops. New thing learnt #1.

Appointment #1 - Asianel, Starhill Gallery

Parked at Pavilion and balked at the RM3 per hour rates (WTF, man). Went across the street to Starhill with Mum for her noon appointment. Security was tight on account of a watch display going on inside and we had to get visitor passes to get in and out. Place was a little deserted but my mum liked it, - the pain in her neck has lightened with the reflexology but it's just too freaking far to do it long term. Checked out the watches on display before we left - they're all priced in the 5, 6 digit range. There were a few that were (allegedly) made with parts of the moon.

While she was having her feet pampered, I was back in Pavilion for a little while. Bought the 2 for RM138 khakis from Giordano, but couldn't get them altered because it would take too long and I could always get that done in any other branch back in PJ. Mum was surprised that I managed to get anything at all in such a short period of time.

Appointment #2 - Bella Luna, Solaris, Mont Kiara

Left downtown KL around 1 something (got free parking because of the RM100 purchase) and got a little lost on the way to Mont Kiara (Google Map FAIL about halfway through the directions), but managed to get to Solaris in the end after going a slightly longer route than expected. When we finally parked the car at the basement parking lot in Soho KL at around 2 something, Mum got a call from Bella Luna, saying that there's been a cancellation and asked if she wanted to move her appointment earlier. So she started at 2.30 p.m. - she found it to be "like that" lah... and the post-treatment hard sell and the package prices didn't really help matters.

I had 90 minutes to kill in the area and unless you're drinking and eating, there's not much else to do. Checked out the Cold Storage there - it's not too shabby, but so's the prices :P Got bored really fast cos it's a little dead during the day. Final stop was
Dr. Cafe Coffee, but I didn't get anything with caffeine. But I did managed to get a paper bag and a plug stirrer. I'm also keeping the cold drink cup as per my usual custom.

Got home at nearly 5 p.m..
