Facebook Places.. really?

To those who are already creeped out by foursquare (myself being one of them), Facebook now has Facebook Places. But so far it's only slowly rolling out Stateside at this point. But it still doesn't stop the heebie-jeebies.

I suppose it makes sense for them to roll out Places because people sometimes update their locations in their status updates from their phones - more people are on Facebook than 4square than on both sites simultaneously.

I don't know if I'll use it myself when it's rolled out to this part of the world, but I gotta remind myself to opt out and kill anyone that checks in wherever on my behalf.... kidding about the last part. Besides, I don't have a smart phone to do the location check ins and all that.

(You can adjust your privacy settings accordingly, even if you're not in the US... phew)
