Uniqlo in KL?

It's been confirmed that Malaysia would get its first Uniqlo store in KL at Fahrenheit 88 (formerly KL Plaza), which is across the street from Pavilion and managed by the same people.

I know I'm not the most fashion brand conscious, but I never even heard of this particular brand until I saw the store in Singapore the last time I was there and I was wondering what the fuss is about there and also here. Perhaps it might have something to do with me not being a nipponophile.

It'll be awhile before the store opens, but I won't be waiting with bated breath because if it's anything like the other supposedly "cheap, overseas" brands, it won't be as cheap HERE and people might end up going elsewhere anyway.
