Another wedding

Today I attended a former classmate's kenduri kahwin in Section 19. While not my first Malay wedding by any means, but it's definitely a first because it's someone I actually know and a first where I had to give an angpau (although technically it was in a yellow packet...)...

Met at a friend's house around 1 something and we left in a two cars, all while it was raining heavily.

However, it was friend Ivan's first Malay wedding and he came with a full stomach. We all chided him (good naturedly) about that and told him to come with an empty stomach next time.

It is also the first time I've been in that part of town (which is near the upcoming SSTwo mall).

It's held in the void deck area of the apartment block, and fortunately, the only wedding in the vicinity. Also saw some other people who I've been classmates with earlier in the secondary school life, some of them with kids themselves. One of them already has FOUR kids, under the age of 10. Woah. It has been that long.

We missed the bersanding ceremony and was just in time for the tucking in part of the festivities. The food was okay lah - beef korma, some chicken dish, two types of rice, etc.... by then which it had stopped raining.

Ate, said hi to a bunch of people, sat around for a bit and high tailed it out of there - one of the things I like about Malay weddings.

All while wearing one of Mum's baju kurung and heels that I've not worn in awhile. Am I glad I didn't trip and fall.
