Baby full moon gathering

Attended my first baby full moon party as an adult yesterday. It was a surreal. (Friend had a baby recently - didn't visit earlier cos I was feeling under the weather and it's never a good idea to spread germs to newborn babies).

Got lost getting to the house - it took me about an hour in total as I floundered around the last third of the journey (which I totally spaced out on since the last time I drove there). The loaned GPS (which I borrowed as a last-ditch resort) unit died on me and I didn't have the in-car charger with me. Basket. Had to ask a few joggers the way :P Nothing beats human experience. Perhaps I'll get it right a third time...

The gentle reminder text received a few days ago mentioned that it was gonna be at the poolside (which I didn't know they've got the last time I went - ooh), so when I mentioned the word "party" to the guard at the guardhouse, all he said was "kiri, kanan" (left, then right). And I was still early. Not really, cos someone else was already there before me, so at least I wasn't the first sucker of the bunch there.

Managed to get this before the swarm - and I wasn't the only one
Buffet spread was the typical multi-generation friendly dishes like fried rice, fried beehoon, etc etc. It's not the first time in my life that I'm having dinner before 6 p.m.

Long story short, it was nice seeing people again and the guest of honour (Baby A) is adorable. Another couple I knew from college (but was never really friends with personally) who also lives in the area also came by with their baby daughter, who's also pretty adorable as babies can be. It's fun teasing babies with food they can't exactly eat, haha.

As among the last ones to leave, we got some of the leftover food unloaded unto us; I ended up with a bag of curry, which I was fine with, and also a couple of red eggs which I didn't partake earlier.

Also needed help getting out through the wilderness, so followed another friend out until I saw the road signs to PJ.
