Doing my Starbucks related dump here. If there's anymore after this, well... suck it up.
Didn't buy a Starbucks card earlier because of the trip to Jakarta and I heard about the buggy online system on the Facebook page from other people. I finally dropped by the second home store to get one for myself and also to collect the ONECARD points from that. It wasn't too busy when I got there in the evening so I didn't feel so bad about holding up the line or anything.

Getting over the serving baristas' non-fluency of the English language aside (not their fault), here's what I gathered...
- They were out of the Christmas designs and also the card caddys (that you get when you reload RM100 into the card, also while stocks last, methinks).
- The card is free - the RM20 activation fee will still be RM20 inside the card.
- One cannot collect ONECARD points for the aforementioned activation fee and subsequent reloads, but only when you actually PURCHASE something with the Starbucks card. Yes, you can collect points with both ONECARD or BCARD on the same transaction.
I heard the 10% J Card discount at Starbucks will be discontinued next year, which is sad but the RM2 tumbler discount (if you remember to bring it..) is still better for buying drinks. I personally will miss it when it comes to buying merch.
I used the card to buy a planner outright (RM88). Also helped a lady behind me (who also had problems with the barista's language) with the answers to the same questions I had asked myself not 2 minutes ago.
