Found myself at Pavilion again over the weekend and even though I had a late breakfast, but it was a light breakfast and I was feeling peckish at nearly 2 p.m. and after all that walking around. Ended up at Cappricciosa (where I had been meaning to try out at some point) and it was the last weekend of their fresh pasta promotion (from RM7.90 instead of RM26.90 for certain pasta dishes or something like that) and I thought, "eh, why not? the other outlets are too far for me".
There were only like 5 pasta dishes to choose from and since I can't stomach cream sauces, there was not much to choose from for me in the end. I normally don't eat pasta when I'm out because I refuse to pay through the nose for a pasta dish, but I'll let it slide this one time. I ordered the pappardelle with mushrooms in spicy ragu sauce. Didn't order a drink cos I was sipping on a Starbucks frapp when I walked in.
I like all the ingredients together on the plate - the pasta was hearty, I love the sauce (not sure what their definition of "spicy" was, but that ain't it), and the mushrooms had their woody flavour. It did not taste half bad. I love pasta as much as the next carboholic, I had my doubts that I could finish (I did ask about their portions and they told me it was for one "person"). But I did and I'm glad because it was delicious. I'm just glad I didn't order anything else.
Service felt a little slow to me - it's been awhile since I had to wait more than a few minutes for food. But I was in and out within 30 minutes, because I started listening to a 30 minute long podcast (it was Slate's Spoiler Special for The Avengers, in case anyone was wondering) when I first sat down and when I got up to leave, it was close to the end.
Damage was still under RM10, even after service charge and government tax, so... take that :P
