Bought this deal for 2 wax sessions at Bubble Gum Wax in Plaza Damas for RM49 (with optional RM18 add on for hard wax) on I Love Discounts last week, which was cheaper per session than their previous first-timer offer of RM38.80 (hard wax). There was also a deal for ONE session, but it was a no-brainer lah. Everything just came together and it was high time I tried out Bubble Gum Wax.
Despite the 3 day prior booking clause in the deal, I called Friday afternoon to try my luck and they squeezed me in at 5.30 p.m. the next day (Saturday), which I must imagine must be pretty busy as they're not open on Sundays. I was only fussy about getting my semi-regular waxer (who only works Saturdays), whom I've not seen professionally awhile (over a year :P) before she left her previous place of employment (read this).
Killed a couple of hours in Hartamas Shopping Centre before I finally walked over to Bubble Gum Wax about 15 minutes before my appointment as I expect to do some waiting and form filling. The waiting area was packed, which can only be a good thing, right? Then I just remembered that this might be the Groupon/I Love Discounts crowd, myself included (whoops...). At least their magazines are not that old (oldest was April 2012), so I got my mag flip through on. While waiting, I was asked whether I had been back to aforementioned previous place of employment (as they were from there), and I said I haven't (mostly because of the package pushing, which I did not appreciate AT ALL).
I nearly fell asleep when my head hit the pillow, it was so comfy. But I didn't. The caramel soft wax was bearable. Anyhow, it's all good, save for the ingrowns, which can't be helped. I was right about getting it done every six weeks instead of four, so I'm gonna do the second session in that time. In retrospect, I probably should've made the second appointment there and then, but oh well.
If there's ever a group buying deal for there, just get it already.
