This Idiot's Guide to myBurgerLab

After reading about myBurgerLab on Eat Drink KL, I decided to stop by for dinner on the way home. I nearly didn't find the place because of my own Google Maps misread. And I attended school nearby... :P Sheesh.

It was a little after 7 p.m. on a Saturday night, but I found parking pretty quickly (yay) and after several minutes of hem-ming and haw-ing over what to order staring at the menu on the wall, I settled on a Beef Hangover (beef patty, hash brown, mushrooms with maple syrup drizzle; RM16).

You can see what's happening... just don't get in the way
Mmm... the oh-so lovely fries
Team at work assembling the burgers
Here's the procedure:
  1. Order - they will ask your name because that's how they're calling the orders. Call yourself Darth Vader for a chuckle :P
  2. Pay the extra RM5 for the fries and drink. Seriously.
  3. Wait for your order - wasn't too long for me.
  4. Pick up order.
As I finally found a table to sit down (times like these I wish I wasn't there by myself) and tucking in, the line got progressively longer. I got lucky. It was pretty crowded when I first got there, and got increasingly so as I sat there to dine. I wished people had the the sense to just leave when they're done eating so that other people could sit, you know?

I liked the burger I got, but I hit the carb wall just as I was about to finish, so I finished what's left of the inside and put aside what was left of the charcoal bun (which was getting soggy from the juices anyway). I even had to tarpau the oh-so delish leftover fries because this couple was eyeing my table and it was getting uncomfortable.

The herbed french fries were deliciously fragrant, so worth getting, even on the side. The whole thing was so good, I barely used the ketchup and mustard that's on every table. The leftovers survived the drive home, which is saying something.

I wondered if they got a low-carb option - I would definitely have a burger covered in huge lettuce leaves in lieu of buns. But since you don't see too many burger joints use charcoal buns, oh why not this one time.

Reminder to self for next time: try a veggie burger, and not to go alone.

Admittedly, the prices might be a little on the steep side for some, but don't go there and just order a cheese burger - go nuts and try the other burgers they have on the menu. They're still more creative than what you'd find at the chain outlets, and you'd be supporting local enterprise.

They seem to be selling out really quickly ever since they opened some weeks ago, so I suggest going early.

14, Jalan 21/22, Seapark, 46300 P.J.
Open from 5 p.m. (til sold out), Tuesdays - Sundays
