Lagu beach-friendly beach blanket

I've been wanting to get the Lagu beach-friendly beach blanket (a Filipino product) to try out, which is stupid because what am I going to do with a beach blanket when I'm not much of a beachgoer to begin with. But you never know when you're gonna be at an outdoor event with nothing but the ground to sit on, so I like to cover my bases. It beats borrowing my mother's house mat, getting stuff on it and having to clean it out afters :P

From the website...
Lagu is the first beach-friendly beach blanket. Unlike ordinary towels, Lagu repels sand allowing you to lay with ease while also conserving the beach. It's unique linen blend is allergen-free and has quick-dry properties, keeping it fresh for repeated use.

Friendly to both you and the beach, Lagu is the only beach blanket you'll need for your life on the sands.
FAQs

After failing to get this from ZALORA Malaysia, I bought it from Singapore-based online shop Moody Mary (who mainly sells handmade accessories but she sells these too), who was shipping it to me cheaper than the official site was (S$5 versus S$20 - the latter almost caused me to do a spit take). I finally collected the package at my local post office (no one was home when it was first delivered).

Never mind using this to sit on, but it's huge enough (at 5' x 3.75') for a makeshift blanket.

Button fastener
I found that the easiest way for me to store this would be to fold in thirds, roll up and button up. Quite handy, and also not as bulky as the mats my mother's had around the house over the years... The only time I could probably try this out in the wild is when I go to Urbanscapes in November, which is still quite aways to go.. I'll put a review out once I actually use it for what it was intended for :P

Available online at lifeonthesands.com; as far as I know, no local (MY) retailer/reseller yet...

Edit: Heard back from the Lagu Singapore and they already corrected the shipping rates ; for Malaysia, postage is S$4 (normal post) and S$6 (registered post), which is infinitely more reasonable than S$20 :P
