Henderson Waves

No thanks to Neil Humphreys and Return to a Sexy Island, I got curious about the Henderson Waves. But I knew I would be too exhausted to do the long trek after USS, so I was busy working on the best way to reach just the Waves portion of the Parks. They weren't too far from each other.

Luckily there were a couple of buses heading there from Vivo - #131 and 145. Took the former and got off at the bus stop on Henderson Road (yeah, hence the name) nearest the thing and climbed the stairs and literally dragged my sorry, sweaty self to the thing. It's fine if it was the first thing of the day or something, but I did it in the evening after a long day out... and because I wanted to see it lit up.

A part of me died when I saw these
From halfway up the stairs
Finally!!
Got there around 6 something - the lights were already on by 6.45 p.m., but there was still some light out. There were people hanging out there having a late picnic, or if this wasn't a republic, a great spot for religious departments to do their tangkap basah operations, there were a few couples canoodling there. There was even a wedding photoshoot happening while I was up there.

What no one tells you is that you can still see in between the planks, down to the road. Which is really creepy when you're on (allegedly) Singapore's highest pedestrian bridge - I'm fine with pedestrian bridges and docks as long as I don't see what's directly underneath.

Like Batu Caves, I think once was enough - not going back there again anytime soon.
