Quickie Review: Fat Spoon Cafe, Damansara Utama

(Meaning: Wasn't bothered to take pictures, so not gonna bore anyone stupid by going on too long about it as it's been photographed and blogged about ad nauseum by now).

Friend was in town, finally had time to meet up for a meal. Suggested Fat Spoon Cafe only because  I had heard quite a bit about it but I had not been there myself and it's nearby, so what the heck. Besides, going there during normal business hours would be an exercise in masochism, so dinner it was.

There were a few occupied tables as we were crazy early (think we were there almost 7 p.m.?) or that it was a Thursday night after yet another heavy monsoon downpour. I ordered the spicy beef macaroni soup, which was so spicy (in a good way) that I started sweating bullets, which doesn't normally happen. Friend had the claypot loh shi fun that they thought was a little salty....

I ordered dessert to cool down after the spicy soup: I had sago pudding with The Last Polka's Salted Gula Melaka ice cream instead of santan and gula melaka. Really delicious. Friend had the fried cempedak (wrapped in popiah skin) and a side of vanilla ice cream, which came on a small fry pan, which was an interesting presentation choice.

Didn't have to wait too long for the food, but I felt the service was a little lacking. Not to mention that the Wi-Fi wasn't working on that day :P I might go back to try some of the other stuff in the future, but I don't know...
