In-N-Out Burger Pop-Up in PJ

When word got out that In-N-Out Burger was gonna do one of their infamous overseas pop-ups in PJ, I was intrigued. Luckily the announcement was pretty last minute or else it could've been worse, crowd and traffic-wise. Why and how Strangers@47 got this gig, I don't know. But good on them, I guess?

I left office around 10 and I got there less than half hour (parked near the durian stalls and climbed up) and there was a line. I heard that the line started at 7 or 9 a.m., depending on who you ask. The line also literally went down the road. The myBurgerLab crew were also there.

Apparently the line behind sorta went around the block?
Then they gave out wristbands (which I take to mean that if you got one, you're guaranteed one of the 300 portions) and erm, swag (keychain).

I was probably in line for 90 minutes (so my prediction was pretty close)... give or take. I was busy ducking all the cameras taking pics and videos of the line by hiding behind the huge guy in front of me. They were doing the one for one crowd control, which was just as well so that it doesn't get stuffy inside.

Apparently, they were all gone by 11.15 a.m, so if you didn't get a wristband, you might as well go to Kanna for banana leaf lunch.

So close, yet so far...

At first I thought about having it to go, but by the time I got to the counter it was already about noon, so I was like, early lunch it is then. I also got a t-shirt for the lolz, cos RM15 is pretty cheap :P

I ordered mine in both animal and protein style, which I didn't know I could do (the cashier seem confused when I said I wanted protein style aka no bun, so he called the white guy on scene, Eric, to help punch in that order.. or because the POS was starting to crash? I wasn't all sure).  Also, no extra charge, so what the heck.

Cheeseburger set, both animal and protein style
The burger was ok lah, though my patty might be a bit a tad overseasoned.

I also grabbed a bunch of these stickers, since no one said I couldn't get more than one...?

For lining up around 10 something (less than an hour before), I was order no. 81, so beh pai lah. But I still not nuts enough to go line up so early.
