Black Panther

Going to watch Black Panther on a) a Saturday, and also b) a public holiday is never a great idea.
  • I'm glad the cold open kinda answered my question as to whether T'Chaka was also Black Panther back in his day. I mean, he has to be, right?
  • Sterling K. Brown was only in the movie for like 10 minutes tops. I wonder if he was there for half a day or longer.
  • This is the most people have seen Lupita Nyong'o in these franchise movies. She wasn't in the Star Wars movies for quite that long.
  • I totally would not mind having those Wakandan ships to get around.. Also, the upgraded Black Panther suit is pretty badass.
  • I missed the second challenge fight to go to the loo. I don't think I missed anything besides Forest Whitaker's character's death.
  • How did Michael B. Jordan get away with not having to put on an African accent, besides that he's playing T'Challa's American cousin?
  • The Dora Milaje are badasses.
  • Martin Freeman's American accent is not bad, and also not the deep growl-y version that Hugh Laurie, Benedict Cumberbatch and Dan Stevens use for theirs. Also the most action any of these side characters get in the MCU besides Coulson.
  • As far as MCU villains go, Killmonger's not one of the worst.
  • Andy Serkis is quite a hoot when not in a MoCap suit.
  • Something about this movie kinda seems Shakespearean to me. Or like English history where the king always has to fight off claimants to his throne, etc.
  • Don't tell me that heart shaped herb is a one time ingestion thing. Doesn't it get passed out?
  • So if the heart shaped herb supply went up in flames.. how lah?
  • If the movie was set after Civil War, technically Cap would also still be in Wakanda with Bucky?
It's entertaining enough. Go watch it if you want to.
