Finally decided to try this hotel. It got a lot of press for its minimalist, monochrome theme when it first opened last year. Also, between the Maybank card discount and the Agoda credit just sitting there, I booked a single room for a one night stay.
By the time I left the airport (cos of the Wizarding World ground event), I only got there around 3 something.

Getting there: Downtown line MRT from Expo to Chinatown. Exit A, then a 5 minute walk from there. Almost walked past it, too. You also walk past Porcelain Hotel on your way there.
Location:
Checking in: Didn't even need to take out my Agoda confirmation, only passport. The person working the front desk was nice enough to bring me to the room.
Room: The only thing I requested was a quiet room. So I was brought to a room that was probably towards the back of the building. While there were two windows, but it was essentially a view of the adjacent block and the blackout shades worked a treat.
Bed was ok. Linens looked clean. Pillows were a little weird for micro-gel pillows. I did look under the bed and it had been cleaned. |
Desk/headboard with the plug points and light switches accessible from the bed.
|
Complimentary toiletries (which you know I sapu-ed). Rain shower. |
You know it's hipster AF when there's BROWN SUGAR provided for your hot drinks (2-in-1 and Kopi-O Nescafe, English Breakfast and also Jasmine Green teas). |
Open air closet and hair dryer. They should thank their stars I didn't sapu the hair dryer. |
In room mini fridge |
Sleep: Instead of just dumping everything and heading out again, I took a much needed shower and nap. Wasn't a deep nap, but enough to get me through the evening.
I slept okay, considering. Thankfully no new bed bug bites.
