Shake Shack, Jewel Changi Airport

One of the items in my brief itinerary was to (at the very least) check out Shake Shack in Jewel before flying back to KL.

When I got there around 10 something, there was already a line, but felt that it was too early so I went to check out some other shops nearby before turning back around. (Apparently the line started before the staff even got there themselves; because the building is open 24/7)

When I walk past again, the line to order seem to be moving at a fast(er) pace, so I tried my luck. Ordering took less than 15 minutes, I felt. But waiting for the food, was another thing - I felt like I waited over half an hour for just the Shroom Burger (their non-beef option) and Fifty-Fifty (half lemonade, half iced tea) - which sucked balls either because it was left out too long or something, cos it tasted like NeWater. Whatever it was, a letdown. The burger was okay. Didn't want to order more because the fries would be too much for me alone to finish. And also, they don't do combo meals, so there's that. The staff are doing what they can.

The one thing I hate about Singapore is their blasted chope culture - people with no food taking up tables and space while people with actual food have to practically stand to eat because said assholes have parked themselves there. While Shake Shack does have upstairs seating, but that's not exactly feasible when you have to balance yourself, tray of food AND whatever luggage you have up and down the stairs. Not an option.

I plopped myself down on an empty high seat and this auntie had the gall to tell me that she was saving it for her (nowhere to be seen) kid. I gave that bitch an Oscar-winning glare as I dug in, knowing that I'll be done by the time she gets her food so she should just STFU. I admit, it was probably a combination of hanger and not wanting to miss my flight cos it was almost noon by that point.

In case anyone's wondering - it's as non-halal as it gets: there's beer and wine on the menu and also, at least one of the burgers have bacon in it, so yeah.

To be honest, I don't know if I can do it again - even freaking Omakase has more options.
