Week 6, 2020

The novel coronavirus situation is bananas - Singapore supermarkets are being emptied out by people panic-shopping for groceries, masks and other sanitary supplies are in high demand, etc. It's so bad, some countries are putting export embargos of those things.
  • The GSC in Pavilion is closing this month, but it's being replaced by a Chinese cinema chain called Dadi later this year.
  • On top of the search for masks and sanitisers, TnG is finally going to start charging for RFID installation later in the month. So now people are rushing to get them affixed. Personally, I have my doubts about having it.
  • Did anyone expect to believe that Mr Peanut was really dead? Really?
  • Saturday was both Thaipusam (great if you work Saturdays) and Chap Goh Meh. Can call it Chap-usam tak?
  • Spent Chap Goh Meh doing high tea with the mum's side of the family at Pasar Baru in New World Hotel.
  • RIP Kirk Douglas
  • Apparently Matilda the musical is gonna be playing in Malaysia later this year, early bird tickets are on sale now.
  • It only took Tealive so many years for them to finally introduce a reusable strawfree cup for bubble tea drinks.
  • They've confirmed a sequel to Knives Out. I'm okay with that, but damn, so much for a one-off movie? So far I'm 0-infinity on how many movies I thought were never going to have sequels or turn into entire franchises (*coughJohnWickcough*). Oy vey.
  • Finally saw a couple episodes of new show Stumptown. If you ever thought Cobie Smulders was kinda underutilised as Maria Hill in the MCU, her character in the show is the total opposite of Maria Hill, but still just as badass.
