Week 32, 2020

Weather this week so hot as balls; so it's not just great for laundry, but also great for those of us who tend to leave lightly-used masks on their car dashboard to sun to stretch out the use.... because mask wear while outside the house is mandatory now. It's been so confusing, a lot of people were getting fined for not wearing one in their own private cars, which has since been U-turned and those fined will be getting their money back.

• So many reboot announcements this week, I cannot keep up: Animaniacs lah, Knight Rider lah (even though the last TV reboot didn't take), Who's the Boss? punya sequel series lah... 
• So Mulan is gonna be on demand on Disney+ (presuming in those markets that have it?), but also getting a theaterical release some other places that I don't think have Disney+ per se... Malaysia being one of them. 
• Paid S$7 (out of existing PayPal balance) to attend a Zoom screening of Singapore comic Sam See's first hour-long special on Friday night. Why so (relatively) affordable? Cos the video could be A LOT BETTER (I'm just paraphrasing here). Some bits I've heard elsewhere, but overall, pretty entertaining. 
• First Zoom show this week LOL. Will I go for more Zoom shows? Maybe. 
• I know Crackhouse Comedy Club has been doing both in-person and Zoom shows ever since they reopened (cos they can only do half capacity(?) at the club). But I haven't bitten the bullet on their Zoom shows just yet. I suppose it would be less annoying to watch a Zoom show than to attend in person; also, no need to buy drinks! (It's like coffee shops lah: you also need to buy drinks one)
• There's also an update on the Bon Appetit garbage fire: three people are no longer going to be doing videos; two of them are gonna be on the print and web side, the other is just leaving after contract negotiations broke down. 
• Mr DIY subsidiary MR Dollar (their version of a dollar store?) opened its first store this week, but it's kinda far to go on a lark cos it's in Taman Maluri. 
• It's been announced that there's gonna be a Don Don Donki in PJ? Dunno how for real it is, but good to know? 
• There's gonna be a FIFTH John Wick movie, you guys... like the protagonist, this franchise tak mati-mati one. At least they're doing the 4th and 5th movies back to back? 
• Ellen is in some deep doo-doo now; I kinda hope that she does quit on her own accord and not wait for the network to pull the plug on the show for her. 
• Anyone claimed their RM50 Penjana e-wallet credit yet? I finally bit the bullet and just went with Grab. 
• Apparently both the CBS late night shows (Colbert and Corden) are going back to studio to do their shows next week. The no audience I get, so are they gonna work with a skeleton crew? I guess they have to keep up with Fallon, who's been back at 30 Rock doing his show for a couple weeks now; and Seth is doing his from his in-laws' house? Even Conan is doing his show from Largo theater last few weeks. Who's still doing their own show from home - Maher and Last Week Tonight?
