Bananabro, The Gardens

Because it was a state holiday (thank you, Tuanku) Friday, I did what any person on a state holiday does: go to a KL mall. (I know it's not the best idea in these times, don't get on my back about it)

Been wanting to try Bananabro for awhile; I never knew about it because their other branches are in places I don't normally go to like Berjaya Times Square, Cheras Leisure Mall, etc. I guess this is the closest to banana leaf rice anyone working around there is gonna get without going over to Bangsar and dealing with the chaos there.

While waiting outside mulling the menu over (I was still early), I bought a RM1 voucher on Shopee for a portion of their Chicken 65 (U.P. RM7.90).

RM12.90 for the basic banana leaf rice is a bit much, I will be honest. But so was the portion.

Never trust a big guy to dish out your food

There was also brown rice on the menu as an option, but probably not on a Friday when they can upsell you the briyani rice.

The food was okay for halal banana leaf rice, but I would like it more it wasn't so cold.

I would call this Teh-puccino

Ate a little earlier because by the time I left, there was already a crowd outside.

PS.
  • Used Maybank's QR Pay for the cashback promo and I only got RM0.50 back.
  • Ended up having to tarpau the excess fried gourd (I dunno if it was even bitter gourd, could have been snake gourd?) and chicken cos I can't finish it right there and then? Reheated both for dinner.
