Week 3, 2021

MCO again. Because everything closes at 8 p.m., no more post-dinner outings, and you'd have to do your erm, essentials shopping during the day. As if that wasn't enough, an Emergency was also declared this week until August, which seems excessive (I smell a rat; some of you would know what I mean). 

I dunno if it's just me, or has the weather gone back to being hot as balls? 

• Finally got to check out the Cheesecake Factory dessert kiosk (not full-fledged restaurant or whatever, just someone who's got the rights to sell the cakes here) in Pyramid this past week. Even with the opening promo, the prices are still kinda expensive? Definitely more an occasional indulgence sort of thing.  
• At least I got some of the waxing appointments out of the way before the MCO started because I was right that those places would not be able to operate during this time. (Had to do some last minute rescheduling right after it was announced)
• News in white ladies accused of cultural appropriation this week: three were accused of making mahjong sets "white"; and in another case, for trying to make baju kurung a thing again (it was to promote the brand's upcoming baju kurung collection)...?  In any case, I'm not their target demo (don't play mahjong or fancy the prints that much myself). Fellow Malaysians are more outraged about the latter. I'm just too tired. 
• Sad news this week: Tropicana Gardens Mall has (finally) started charging for parking. I'm guessing it's partly to keep out commuters who park there all day to take the MRT? But RM1 for 3 hours is not too shabby. 
• The only good news out of this MCO: Free parking at IPC for the duration of this MCO. So yeah, finally went to (miraculously NOT CROWDED) IKEA on a Saturday in many moons (mostly to take advantage of the birthday perks; i.e. 5x points on first purchase, use redeemed voucher, etc). 
• Apparently Mesia is getting a Gordon Ramsay restaurant later in the year? I'm sure the beef wellington and that other dessert he's known for will fly off the shelves. 
• Finally got round to complain about/writing Sunway Pals about getting the money lying dormant in the Pals cards out because it's been useless ever since they've introduced other ways of paying one's parking on Sunway properties. 
  
• Lush announced an online sale for the past weekend, but the site is constantly crashing/overwhelmed cos they didn't spend money on making it work better for massive influx of traffic? I admit, I still got a couple of things.
