If you thought going to check out the recently opened Don Don Donki (or Don Quijote as it's known in Japan) in Lot 10 was a dumb idea in this pandemic... you won't be wrong.
The idea of me going on Sunday instead of earlier was that I could get flat rate parking that day and I wouldn't be stuck taking public transport.
So yeah, pretty much left after breakfast so that I won't be hangry while in line.
The line started outside Lot 10 itself - you can't miss the staffer carrying the "Line Starts Here" signs and the physical distancing markers on the floor as you're lining up to go in. Due to pandemic restrictions, the max number of people allowed inside was 200, which kinda begs the question: are the staff part of that equation or not?
But yeah, the line snakes through most of Lot 10 leading up to it, each landing on the way up there's a serpentine line. It was long, but it was moving, so I was probably in line for about an hour (not the 2, 3 hours I bet the staff were told to tell people) before I finally stepped foot in the place. They also provided tiny bottled water for people in line. Because of the pandemic, you go in on the second floor (highest floor) and out on the ground floor (street level) exit.
By the time I got in, I was already kinda hungry. So I grabbed a container of sushi (that was on offer) and a couple other things (couldn't find the item that I was there for in the first place), and checked out so that I could dig into it at the dine-in area on the ground floor.

| You bet your ass I finished this, cos I was hungry and I wasn't in the mood to carry around leftovers |
After this, I'm in no hurry to go back there any time soon.
Random thoughts:
- I thought it was a little weird that the prepared food (bento, sushi, etc) were on the first/middle of the three floors and not downstairs closer to the cashiers so you're not carrying around raw or cooked food before you finally checked out?
- One of the things that always tickled me whenever I'm in a Don Don in Singapore was all the different flavours of booze they have out. Sadly, not the case here.
