Another year, another Guy Ritchie movie with Jason Statham.
Was deciding between this and the Shazam! sequel to watch on a Saturday. Only went with this because I figured the latter would have a longer cinema run, so ya. There were fewer than a dozen people in the room also watching, but at least I wasn't in the Jaya TGV where I might have the whole place to myself like when I saw Wrath of Man LOL
A bit standard punya spy caper movie, with quite a few returning Guy Ritchie players (Statham, Grant, Marsan, etc). The only thing I enjoyed was the hand-to-hand fight choreography, even then I was watching it between fingers. And Hugh Grant as the OTT arms dealer. But Jason Statham definitely earned his paycheque for this movie la.
Plot was kinda bog standard, if you watch a lot of spy/heist/caper genre movies and shows. It's like Guy Ritchie take of the M:I franchise, minus the hyperreal masks. Or he made this cos of some contract, I don't know.
- Forgot that Rhed is the pseudonym of Rocco Ritchie (yup, Guy and Madonna's kid) when the name came up in this movie.
