I was mostly too young to have seen the He-Man cartoon the first time round. I know the bare minimum, and I know I'm not quite the target demo (dudes in their 40s and 50s now).
Saw this on a lark this morning. Laughed pretty hard at some of the stupid stuff.
- They actually have him in pink like in the cartoon LOL
- Didn't Idris Elba play a similar role in the Thor movies?
- I guess it's cool that they managed to squeeze Dolph Lundgren in for a cameo
- Idk how they explain Adam's life from 10 to 25 in Oklahoma
- I wonder how much time did James Purefoy, Charlotte Riley, and Morena Baccarin spend on set...?
- Them trying to hide Nicholas Galitzine's physique before that huge transformation into He-Man was fooling no one. If nothing else, while he was jacked as He-Man, but not unnaturally so?
- Did not hate Jared Leto as Skeletor
- So many English people in generic American accents... oklah, except Camilla Mendes
To be honest, I thought it was a fun, campy romp, but I feel like it didn't have to be so damn long? Also, THREE post credits scenes? I know they're really trying to set up the foundations for a future sequel/franchise, but I don't know if it'll do well enough to warrant all that set up.
Good luck to this movie.
