Elizabeth: The Golden Age

Finally saw this last night after being unable to for the last couple of weeks due to some reason or another.

Missed the beginning (don't know how many minutes, really) because I was still outside buying my ticket (some of you would know which cinema I'm referring to). Bloody hell.
I didn't catch the first one (that was out AGES ago - 1999) and I thought the plot for this one was so-so and a LOT of creative licence was taken with this movie with historical accuracy. So don't take it as gospel.

But I'm a sucker for Tudor-Elizabethian fiction, and also Clive Owen (haha). Clive Owen looks great here with facial hair as (Sir) Walter Raleigh. Just thought I'd say that.

Though I can't help but feel annoyed with the constant revolving shots around the rooms and Cate Blanchett. I didn't get the point - or that's the director's signature thing that I wasn't aware of (oops). I'm also annoyed at the blatant snipping that the Censorship Board's done. Damnit.

Either way, I'm fine that I caught it.
