Mind you, it's got nothing to do with the dance, which is the first hit on Google.
Doesn't matter that it's denim, knit-woven, blinged out, or whatever - I don't get why people would pay money to wear what's basically a jacket long (or short, depending on how you see it) enough to cover one's boobs, and that isn't enough at times. Are people more likely to feel cold in their upper arms and torso only? With the sweater vest it's just the chest and back... but this? Oh well..
And you can't wear it alone without getting arrested for indecency (ha ha), it's only an outer layer kind of thing.
Now I'm waiting for it to go out of style.
