Cheng Beng, Qing Ming, Tomb Sweeping Day

Woke up around 5.30 a.m. to get to Nirvana in Semenyih to beat the crowd.

Even at that hour, most of the cars we saw on the road were pretty much on the same way there, so that was a little redundant. But got there with plenty of time anyway despite the slight crawl encountered here and there. With the rest of the relatives still stuck in traffic, mum and I still had time to go to the loo (inadvisable).

Killed the waiting time by going around admiring the other places of eternal rest (not the whole park, obviously - it's massive)...

When the rest finally turn up (who were bringing the rest of the paraphernalia: hell money and what not), the food offering was set up, joss sticks were lit, and we prayed.

After that the paper was burned, and then more incense was lit (probably to use them up, but whatever).

At 8 something in the morning... or was it 7? Oh, who cares.

The hills are alive... with people, noise and smoke.

Additional touch announcing to the world that it's NOT strictly just a cemetery.

I like the lawn furniture touch... some of the family plots had more than one set of table and chairs. Don't want to know how much they paid for it.

My brother, taking a break from all the praying, burning and cleaning

We all left about 10 something, took a rather scenic route (didn't expect to see a LAKE, and no - I don't know which one is it), but at least we weren't stuck in a lot of traffic, and was home in less time than last year. (Got home about noon-ish).
