Checked out the MPH warehouse sale at Dataran Hamodal after work today.
- The Value Buys and the 70% off bins were messy, but that's to be expected. But also not that cheap cos it's discounted from the original, 3 digit retail price. Most of the books in this area are better off junked (in my opinion).
- Same goes for the tables with books with the 30% and 50% discounts, which I admit it's a bit generous, but at the same time, not that cheap.
- It's air-conditioned, so no worries about suffocating to death like that time at the old Limkokwing campus.
Didn't take me too long to go through the whole place. Damage was under RM100, but only bought 2 books - Lydia Teh's Do You Wear Suspenders? The Wordy Tales of Eh Poh Nim and Urban Odysseys: KL Stories, both of which were 30% off (not that big a discount, but they are local). I also saw Amber Chia's autobiography (which I've not seen before for some reason), but I sputtered when I saw that it was RM49.90. I've flipped through, and there were quite a lot of pictures.
For the heck of it, I got the Pilates box set which had a mat, a DVD and a book, my reasoning being that paying RM30 to find out if I actually like it is cheaper than plunking down money for classes and equipment. I think. Wish me luck :P
