After 3 years and 8 something months of use, the first generation iPod shuffle that I won back in Bemidji has (I think) kaput-ed. The battery LED is fine (as in it appears to be charging when plugged into a USB port), but iTunes can't really detect it, which I guess is a sign, no?
Which was just as well, because the earbuds that came with it had crapped out some weeks ago (currently using the ones that came with the laptop), not to mention that I lost the USB cap of the protective condom cover on that last staycation and am using a spare cap I have from a thumbdrive after losing the original cap because it won't stay on.
The sibling's pushing me to get a Nano as the new, third generation shuffle is a bit of a doozy and the Woz thinks that the iPod is on its way out..? The thing that I like about the shuffle was that it's not that expensive - the most I listen to are music and audio podcasts. I'm not sure that I'm willing to shell out RM599 for a Nano at an actual store, which is why it's a good thing there are people selling them on Lowyat.net forums for cheaper.
Sigh.
