Arthur's Day brouhaha

To celebrate 250 years of existence, Guiness is having their Arthur's Day celebration at Sunway Lagoon, the headlining act being the Black Eyed Peas (BEP). Other acts include Reshmonu, MC Hotdog, MJ116, Danny One and Manhand - shit, I only know who Reshmonu is lah, am I THAT old?

(Tickets for something featuring the Black Eyed Peas is also quite cheap at RM103, plus Axcess fee - there currently is a early bird promo [10% discount from 27/8 until 11/9]). Might have something to do with the lack of free flow Guiness [free flow for what? I thought a pint of that was supposed to be pretty filling])...

While I don't mind listening to the BEP if they're on the radio, but I personally don't like them enough to buy or listen to the albums. I'm actually thinking of going, but I learnt my lesson and I might want to skip the rest of the acts :P

I normally wouldn't really care, but the flip flopping amongst the gahmen officials in the news have caught my attention.

First, the Malaysian Muslims are banned from attending because the event is sponsored by Guiness and then it got reversed soon after because it was a stupid idea to begin with. What are they gonna do, check everyone's IC at the event? Do racial profiling to suss out who the Muslims are by dress or by speech? A part of me would've been fine with it, as the crowd would reduce significantly :P but I'm just saying. I like how Rais BS-ed his way out of that one.

No, there'll be no free flow drink at the event, or so the Facebook event page says.

That's the cream on top of a messy sundae (PAS calls for MLTR concert ban during Ramadhan, Muslim woman getting the cane for drinking BEER [imagine the Muslims that drink stronger stuff], and Selangor banning the sale of alcohol in like, Shah Alam).

Nicely done, man; nicely done :P
