Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol

Finished Dan Brown's latest Robert Langdon novel, The Lost Symbol.

If you must ask how I got it, then you don't need to know, but technology had something to do about it. I refuse to pay RM99.90 for the hardcover - I wonder how many suckers bought it...?

Like most Dan Brown books with regards to Langdon, it's formulaic - just a change of city (Washington, D.C.), villain, government agency (CIA), female companion and the quest. The rest is not that difficult.

Unless you've been to Washington, you can never confirm the details of the famous landmarks in the book. But with the new angle in tourism popping up soon (The Lost Symbol tour, anyone?), that would not be a problem.

Reading it, you would know that it's a book set in 2009 - there's mentions of Twitter and iPhone and other things like that. I wonder if that would render the book dated in the future.
